Creating a New Event

This guide walks you through creating a new event in DVOX Manager.

Step 1: Access Event Creation

  1. Click the Events tab in the side menu
  2. You’ll see a list of your existing events
  3. Click the + New Event button in the top right corner

Step 2: Fill in Event Information

Complete the Event Information fields:

Required Information

  • Event Name — The title of your event (e.g., “Annual Gala 2024”)
  • Parent Account — The account managing this event (usually your own account)
  • Event Dates — Start and end dates when the event will be active
  • Location Information:
    • Street address
    • City
    • Province/State
    • Postal/Zip Code

ℹ️

Event dates determine when the event is visible on dvox.live (for public events). Use the calendar picker to select start and end dates.

Date Selection

  • Click “Event Date(s)” to open the calendar
  • Select your start date
  • Select your end date
  • The date range will appear in the form

Step 3: Choose Permission Level (if applicable)

If creating an event on behalf of another account, ensure the Parent Account is set correctly. This determines:

  • Who owns the event
  • Who can edit it
  • Which controllers are available

Step 4: Create the Event

Click the Create Event button at the bottom of the form.

  4. You’ll enter the Event Manager

Date Range Tips

💡

**Multi-Day Events:** If your event spans multiple days, set the start date as the first day and end date as the last day. The event will be visible during this entire period. **Same-Day Events:** Set both start and end date to the same date. **Recurring Events:** For recurring events, create a separate event for each instance (e.g., "Weekly Wednesday Concert - Week 1", "Weekly Wednesday Concert - Week 2").

Location Information

The location information you provide:

  • Appears in the event details on dvox.live
  • Helps guests understand the event venue
  • Is used in the event reports and analytics

ℹ️

You can use as much or as little detail as you want. Some venues use full addresses, others use just "Main Hall" or "Virtual Event".
