Final Setup & Going Live

DVOX Event Creation - Final Setup

Before your event is finally ready, you must set your event visibility to public, private, or disabled.

Event Visibility States

Public

ℹ️

**Public** means your event is visible to everyone on DVOX.LIVE.
  • Event appears in the event listings on dvox.live
  • Guests can search for and find your event
  • Event only shows during the pre-selected event dates
  • Accessible via direct URL at all times (before, during, and after event)

Use for: Community events, conferences, public venues

Private

ℹ️

**Private** means your event is only accessible via direct URL.
  • Event does NOT appear in the dvox.live listings
  • Event is not searchable or discoverable
  • Accessible via direct URL at all times
  • Only people with the URL can access it

Use for: Private functions, testing, VIP-only access, corporate events

Disabled

⚠️

**Disabled** means your event is hidden and not accessible.
  • Event does NOT appear on dvox.live
  • Event is NOT accessible via direct URL
  • Useful for archived events or tests
  • Can be re-enabled anytime

Use for: Testing, archived events, work-in-progress setup

Setting Event Visibility

  1. Click Events in the navigation menu
  2. Find your event in the list
  3. Click the pen icon to edit the event

    • Private — Only via direct URL
    • Disabled — Hidden and inaccessible
  3. Your selection is saved automatically

Event URL

The direct URL for your event is displayed in the Event Manager:

https://dvox.live/event.php?code=nJP0f

This URL:

  • Works regardless of visibility setting (Public, Private, or Disabled)
  • Can be shared via QR code
  • Can be shared via email
  • Never changes
  • Never expires

Current Event Status

You can see your event’s current status in the Event Manager header:

  • Event Dates — When the event is active
  • Visibility Status — Current setting (Public/Private/Disabled)
  • Event URL — Direct access link

Sharing Your Event

For Public Events

  1. Set visibility to Public
  2. Guests can find it on dvox.live by:
    • Searching by event name
    • Browsing upcoming events
    • Using location-based discovery (with location sharing enabled)

For Private Events

Pre-Event Checklist

Before going live, verify:

  • Event name and dates are correct
  • All streams are created and named appropriately
  • All streams have controllers assigned
  • All controllers are showing ONLINE
  • Audio is flowing to all inputs
  • Event interface customization is complete (logo, colors, etc.)
  • Visibility is set correctly (Public, Private, or Disabled)
  • You have the event URL ready to share

Important Notes

⚠️

**Disabled by Default:** When you first create an event, it's set to **Disabled** by default. Don't forget to change the visibility before you want guests to access it! **Date-Based Visibility:** Public events only appear on dvox.live during their scheduled dates. The direct URL works anytime.

After Going Live

Once your event is live:

  1. Monitor the Dashboard — Check live listener statistics
  2. Watch for Issues — Monitor for offline controllers or audio problems
  3. Share the URL — Distribute to guests via your chosen method
  4. Check Reports — View real-time analytics about attendance

Changing Settings During an Event

You can change event settings even while an event is live:

  • Modify description or location — Changes appear immediately
  • Add or remove streams — Takes effect in real-time
  • Adjust colors/branding — Updates in guests’ browsers on next load
  • Change visibility — Takes effect immediately

💡

Test changes in a separate browser tab before applying during a live event to avoid surprises.

Event Archival

After an event ends:

  • Keep as-is — Event remains accessible via direct URL
  • Set to Disabled — Hide it from dvox.live (but keep for records)
  • Delete — Permanently remove (cannot be undone)
